- Scientific writing is meant to be clear and precise.
- Scientific findings are meant to providing better understanding, not better impression; so is scientific writing.
- Scientific writing tends to be tentative, it is best to avoid absolute words such as "never", "always", "proven", etc.
- Avoid overly critical of previous works, e.g., instead of "previous research failed to", try "Despite previous research, something has still not done yet."
- Any statement needs to be qualified, i.e., supported by evidence or references.
- Science is meant to be about sharing; if you do not have readers, that's not science.
- Science tell stories.
